Early involvement by contractors is essential, especially for the big jobs, says Iyad Sabouni, vice-president at Aecom. But the challenge is how transparent that will be, because, you know, some people will say ‘Why wasn’t I invited, why were only those two invited, why do they get more intelligence about the job than the others’, and then they go complain, and especially if it’s a government job then it gets very complicated.
